Testimonials from private students and members of the Chi In the Park community.

I have been trained by Gary now for many years, both in group & one-to-one settings. Gary has spent many years Dedicated to learning and immersing himself in to the Culture of Kung-fu. He is extremely knowledgeable in the field & his patience and how he teaches is second to none. Gary & his teaching of Kung-fu has not only improved my physical health but also my mental health which both go hand in hand when training. Gary has spent many years perfecting his art and I throughtly enjoy our one-to-one sessions where he is able to go into more detail about forms & give me a better understanding of how I can improve. I highly recommend Gary to anyone looking to learn more about this traditional art

Gary is a first class teacher, with an impressive depth of knowledge of Tai Chi, developed through many years of practice.
Beginners to class are welcomed, any health concerns noted, footwear, ground conditions, slip and trip hazards checked out. Tai Chi steps/ moves are thoroughly explained and practised before we undertake them ourselves under his guidance. He shows an excellent balance between gentle encouragement and the need for students to work within their own level of ability. We are a group of mixed abilities.
24 steps are linked to their interpretations and use within the wider world, movements in the animal world, health and wellbeing, and in some cases as complementary medicine. We are a mixed group, all at different levels of ability and clearly enjoy learning together with an added dose of humour and fun. Only a very special type of teacher can achieve all of this in a mixed ability class. Come along and try for
yourself. We will welcome you!!

Gary uses a variety of teaching approaches to help us to learn the 24 step movement. These range from; silent demonstrations, demonstrations with explanation, copy cat movement, also posting to us small video links.
This is always done with respect and humour. Respect towards not only the study of tai chi, but also respect to his students. We spend a joyous hour: learning and laughing. .
As I am no spring chicken, at various times he has been asked his advice on aches and pains etc., which he helps us to overcome using the healing powers of tai chi.
